Al Tadamun’s senior management team attended Sanabel’s 9th Annual Conference at Corinthia hotel in Khartoum, Sudan from October 31 – November 2, 2012. The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Khidir, Governor of Khartoum State.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Ali Othman Taha, First Deputy of the President of Sudan and Dr. Mohamed Khair Elzubair, Governor, Central Bank of Sudan. , The theme of the Conference was “New decade for Sanabel, New Services from the Microfinance Sector”.
The three-day event was attended by over 500 microfinance practitioners, donors, investors, and government representatives from the region and worldwide to share and exchange experiences on the latest developments in the microfinance industry in the Arab region and beyond; through sessions, trainings, debates, and round table discussions.
The Conference focused on new products and services that are being provided and shall be provided by the Arab microfinance sector in the coming years. In addition, Sanabel celebrated its 10th Anniversary and was looking towards what the network can provide to the industry in the coming years based on the needs identified by its members.
The Conference was a good exclusive occasion to learn about and discuss new trends, challenges, and opportunities facing microfinance practitioners in the Arab region, as well as a unique opportunity to meet and network closely with the sector practitioners from all around the world.
As for Al Tadamun’s team, they keenly sought to network with other MFIs from the MENA region and worldwide to share experiences as well as get introduced to donors and investors who are willing to invest and partner with Arab MFIs.
