Al Tadamun’s team attended the Sanabel Microfinance Network of Arab Countries’ 12th Annual Conference that was held in Hyatt Regency Hotel, Casablanca, Morocco on November 1-2, 2016. The theme of the conference was “The Microfinance Experience; Regional Progress and Evolving Trends”. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Youssef Fawzy, Chairman of The Sanabel Microfinance Network of Arab Countries. This year’s conference provided a platform for all concerned stakeholders to network and share experiences; progress towards regional objectives; and take a closer look at how effective partnerships, enabling regulatory frameworks and good practices, can assist in meeting a new era of aspirations for Micro-finance in the Arab region.
This two-day event was attended by over 300 microfinance practitioners, donors, investors, and government representatives from the region and worldwide to share and exchange experiences on the latest developments in the microfinance industry in the Arab region through sessions and discussions.
The 2016 Conference showcased valuable experiences and ongoing initiatives which we hope it provided useful insights to the attendees as they continue to work towards achieving the vision of a more inclusive and progressive environment.
As for Al Tadamun’s team, they keenly sought to network with other MFIs from the MENA region and worldwide to share experiences as well as get introduced to donors and investors who are willing to invest and partner with Arab MFIs
